mercaptoacetyltriglycine

mercaptoacetyltriglycine

An imaging agent (99mTc-mercaptoacetyltriglycine) which has been used in preoperative renal scintigraphy to predict post-nephrectomy chronic renal insufficiency. The technique was reported to be inferior to preoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in predicting the development of advanced-stage chronic kidney disease after unilateral nephrectomy.
