Al’gimantas Kaze Nasvitis (in Lithuanian, Algimantas Nasvytis). Born Apr. 8, 1928, in Kaunas. Honored Architect of the Lithuanian SSR (1965).
Vitautas Kaze Nasvitis (in Lithuanian, Vytautas Nasvýtis). Born Apr. 8, 1928, in Kaunas. Honored Art Worker of the Lithuanian SSR (1965).
From 1946 to 1952 the Nasvitis brothers studied at the Art Institute of the Lithuanian SSR in Vilnius. Vitautas has taught at the institute since 1953. The two brothers have collaborated on the restoration and interior design of public buildings. In 1971 they were awarded the State Prize of the Lithuanian SSR for their works between 1956 and 1969, which included a café (1956–59), the Neringa Hotel (1960), and a post office (1969) in Vilnius. In 1973 the Nasvitis brothers also designed the Drama Theater of the Lithuanian SSR in Vilnius.
Al’gimantas Nasvitis has also worked in urban planning. He was awarded the State Prize of the Lithuanian SSR in 1965 for his part in developing and improving the design and production of prefabricated residential buildings in the Lithuanian SSR.
