light-distribution photometer

[′līt dis·trə‚byü·shən fə′täm·əd·ər] (optics) A device which measures the luminous intensity of a light source in various directions; the light source is fixed, and a mirror system is rotated about an axis passing through the centers of the light source and a photocell so that the light emitted by the source in any direction perpendicular to this axis is reflected to the photocell. Also known as distribution photometer.
