multistatic radar multistatic radar[′məl·tē‚stad·ik ′rā‚där] (engineering) Radar in which successive antenna lobes are sequentially engaged to provide a tracking capability without physical movement of the antenna. multistatic radar A radar arrangement in which there are many widely spaced transmitters and receivers. All of them cooperate together to form a sensor system that is highly capable and immune to countermeasures. Besides being costly, the major technical problem is in synchronizing the various elements of the system. |
