Noguchia (nō-gū'chē-ă), A genus of aerobic to facultatively anaerobic, motile, peritrichous bacteria (family Brucellaceae) containing small, slender, gram-negative, encapsulated rods. These organisms are present in the conjunctiva of humans and other animals affected by a follicular type of disease. The type species is Noguchia granulosis.
