Novaia Lialia

a city (since 1938) and center of Novaia Lialia Raion, Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR, on the Lialia River (Ob’ Basin). Railroad station (Lialia) on the Sverdlovsk-Serov line; population, 17,000 (1974). There is a timber combine, a combine for the production of pulp and paper, and a dairy. A forestry technicum is located in Novaia Lialia.
