Mental Health Review Tribunal
Mental Health Review Tribunal A non-departmental public body created to protect the rights of persons involuntarily detained in hospital under the Mental Health Act 1983 (UK), which considers appeals by detainees. The judicial tribunal panel consists of a member of the legal profession, an appropriate doctor and a lay member, which can discharge the detained person or make other recommendations.
