minimumsThe weather condition requirements established for a particular operation or type of operation, such as an IFR (instrument flight rules) takeoff or landing, choosing an alternate airport for IFR flight plans, or a VFR (visual flight rules) flight. The required visual reference is the runway environment. The aircraft should not descend below the MDA/H (minimum descent altitude/height) until visual reference has been established and can be maintained; the pilot has the landing threshold in sight; the required obstacle clearance can be maintained; and the aircraft is positioned to carry out a landing.
