Kurdiumov, Aleksandr Pavlovich
Born Apr. 18 (30), 1867; died Sept. 20, 1926. Soviet metallurgist.
Kurdiumov graduated from the Mikhail Artillery Academy in St. Petersburg in 1898. He began teaching a course there in general metallurgy in 1904. In 1916 he headed the Administration for the Construction of Aluminum Plants in Russia of the Main Artillery Directorate. After the October Revolution, Kurdiumov was active in the creation of the Soviet aluminum industry. He was an organizer and, later, director of the Mining and Metallurgy Laboratory in Leningrad.
