an administrative-territorial division in eastern Poland, between the Vistula and Bug rivers. Area, 6,700 sq km. The population totaled 875,000 persons in 1974, of whom 49 percent were urban dwellers. The administrative center is Lublin. The wojewodztwo is an important industrial and agricultural region.
