Kungur Chronicle

or the Short Kungur Siberian Chronicle, one of the Siberian Chronicles written at the end of the 16th century by a participant in the Siberian campaign of Ermak. The text has not survived in its entirety, but it is known from parts that were included in the Remezov Siberian Chronicle. The Kungur Chronicle contains a description of Ermak’s campaign and valuable historical, geographical, and ethnographical data about Siberia and the peoples who inhabited it in the 16th century. The chronicle is written in the style of popular cossack speech.
