Oleg Lupanov
Lupanov, Oleg Borisovich
Born June 2, 1932, in Leningrad. Soviet mathematician. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1972).
Lupanov graduated from Moscow State University in 1955 and was appointed a professor there in 1964. In 1954 he began working at the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, becoming a senior research worker in 1960. Lupanov is a specialist on mathematical problems in cybernetics and mathematical logic. His principal studies deal with the investigation of the asymptotic laws of complexity of control systems. He was awarded the Lenin Prize in 1966.
