Mendocino Woodlands State Park
Location:9 miles east of Mendocino and 7 miles inland from the coast.
Facilities:Three group camps, each with kitchens, dining and recreation halls, 2-and 4-bedroom cabins, and communal restrooms with hot showers; trails.
Activities:Hiking, swimming.
Special Features:Park is situated in the heart of a redwood forest and features 200 wood and stone buildings built by the WPA and theCivilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s. Buildings throughoutthe Park feature walls of old growth redwood, hand-hewn beams, andhand-crafted stone fireplaces.
