Naryntau
Naryntau
a mountain range in the Inner Tien-Shan in the Kirghiz SSR, stretching almost latitudinally along the left bank of the Naryn River. The range is about 130 km long and rises to 4,530 m. It is composed of limestones, metamorphic schists, and granites. The northern slope is steep, with rocky gorges, and the southern slope is more gentle, with clayey and sandy hills at its foot. Mountain-meadow and meadow-steppe landscapes predominate, and there are high rocky mountains with cliffs and talus on steep slopes. Spruce forests grow in the gorges.
