Kubicki, Jakub

Born in 1758, in Warsaw; died June 13, 1833, in Wilków, near Warsaw. Polish architect.

Kubicki studied with D. Merlini. In 1783–86 he lived in Italy. His buildings—the palaces at Białaczow (1797–1800) and Bejsce (1802) in Kielce Wojewodztwo and the Belvedere Palace in Warsaw (1818–22)—are designed in the 18th-century classical tradition. They are distinguished by harmonious forms, elegant proportions, and simplicity and clarity in the arrangement of masses.
