Location:5 miles northeast of Rupert, Idaho.

Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, ice fishing, hiking, hunting, camping.
Special Features:An important stopover in the Pacific Flyway, the refuge hosts concentrations of up to 100,000 ducks and geese during spring and fall migrations. Close to 500 tundra swans can be seen in the spring and bald eagles are regularly observed in fall and spring.
Habitats: 20,721 acres (including 11,000 surface acres of Lake Walcott), with small bays and inlets and surrounding uplands of sagebrush and grassland.
Access: Open during daylight hours.
Wild life: Tundra swans, Canada geese, several duck species (including mallards, pintails, redheads, gadwall, wigeon), Idaho dunes tiger beetle, Utah valvata, river otters, mink and mule deer.
