Ksawery Rowinski

Rowiński, Ksawery

 

Born Nov. 17, 1904, in Poznań Województwo. Polish radiologist. Academician of the Polish Academy of Sciences (1969). Member of the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 1964.

Rowiński graduated from the faculty of medicine at the University of Poznań in 1928. He became a professor in 1948. Since 1951 he has been organizer and head of the subdepartment of pediatric radiology at the Warsaw Medical Academy. From 1950 to 1960, Rowiński served as director of the Department of Higher Education and Science of the Ministry of Public Health of the Polish People’s Republic. His main works are devoted to pediatric radiology, the organization of medical science, and the history of medicine. Rowiński is a foreign member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (1969).
