Kruskal, Martin David

(1925– ) physicist, mathematician; born in New York City. He taught mathematics at New York University (1946–51) before becoming a plasma physicist, astrophysicist, and mathematics professor at Princeton (1951–89). He made advancements in the fields of logic, magnetohydrodynamics, controlled fusion, and relativity. He joined Rutgers' mathematics department in 1989.
