Established: 1958. Description:Protects and preserves Montana's remaining wildlands and naturallyfunctioning ecosystems. MWA has seven active chapters across the statewhich offer educational programs and organize conservation efforts. MWAalso has field organizers who work closely with the chapters andcommunities to develop grassroots support for important conservationissues and campaigns. Sponsors annual Wilderness Walks program tointroduce hikers to the great diversity of wildlands in Montana. Members: 5,000. Dues: $20/year.
