释义 | Krock, ArthurKrock, Arthur,1886–1974, American journalist, b. Glasgow, Ky. He left Princeton to take up reporting and worked in Louisville and Washington. In 1927 he joined the New York Times, becoming Washington correspondent in 1932. Krock's pungent and controversial columns generally espoused a conservative viewpoint. He won four Pulitzer awards, two prizes (1935, 1938), a special commendation, and a special citation. His books include Sixty Years On The Firing Line (1968), In the Nation: 1932–1966 (1969), The Consent of the Governed and Other Deceits (1971), and Myself When Young: Growing Up in the 1890s (1973). |
