Kristal’naia Peshchera
or Krivchenskaia Peshchera, a karst cave in the gypsums of the Trans-Dniestr Podolie; one of the largest caves in the USSR (third longest after Ozernaia and Krasnaia caves). Total length, approximately 18.8 km; area, 31,000 sq m; volume, 93,000 cu m. It is a highly complex labyrinth of passages created primarily by vertical tectonic fractures whose directions intersect.
