Obayashi Taryo
Born May 7, 1929. Japanese ethnologist. Doctor of philosophy (1955) and professor at the University of Tokyo.
Obayashi is a leading specialist in the study of the ethnology and folklore of Southeast Asia. His major works treat the mythology of the peoples of Eastern Asia as source material for the study of the ethnogeny of these peoples.
