Kretinga
Kretinga
a city; center of Kretinga Raion, Lithuanian SSR. Situated on the Akmene River. Kretinga is a junction for rail-road lines to Siauliai, Sovetsk, and Priekule. Population, 13,000 (1970). The city has a wool-fabrics factory, a creamery, a logging and timber-distribution establishment, and a fur farm (silver-black and blue fox; mink). Kretinga has the closest railroad station to the seaside resort of Palanga, which is located 12 km from the city.
