Kremnické Pohoří
mountains in the southern part of the western Carpathians, in Czechoslovakia. Maximum elevation, 1,318 m (Mount Flochová). The mountains are composed primarily of andesites and volcanic tuffs. There are oak, beech, and mixed forests (spruce, fir, and beech). The city of Banská Bystrica is located in the eastern foothills.
