Location:Park can be reached from Caledonia State Park off US 30.
Facilities:Picnic areas, picnic pavilions, hiking trails, snowmobile trailhead, playfield, playground.
Activities:Fishing, hiking, snowmobiling.
Special Features:Adjacent to the park was the site of the Mont Alto Iron Furnace, built in 1807. It produced 2-3 tons of iron a day. It later became the Mont Alto Iron Company, and the Mont Alto Railroad, which brought visitors to the area. In 1875 Mont Alto Park was opened, and in 1902 it was acquired by the Commonwealth and became the first "state forest park."
