Krasnov

a mountain, the highest peak in the Primor’e Chain of the Zapadno-Sakhalin Mountains, Sakhalin Island. Elevation, 1,093 m.

Mount Krasnov’s regular, dome-shaped cone is composed of dacite lava. Forests of fir trees and undergrowth of Kuril bamboo grow at the base; the slopes are covered with Ermans birch, and the summit with cedar brushwood. The mountain was named in honor of A. N. Krasnov.
