Krasnoufimsk Forest-Steppe

a forest-steppe of the Central Urals, near the city of Krasnoufimsk, in the Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR. The relief is somewhat hilly (elevation 300–350m). The Ufa River and its tributaries run through the foreststeppe. Coppices of birch (less commonly linden and oak) alternate with steppe and meadow-steppe tracts covered with Filipendula hexapetala, waited bunius, feather grass, and other grasses. Substantial areas are plowed. The Krasnoufimsk Foreststeppe is surrounded by dark coniferous taiga with some broad-leaved species.
