Krasnokholmskii Worsted Combine

Krasnokholmskii Worsted Combine

one of the oldest textile enterprises in the USSR.

The combine is located in Moscow and produces material for suits using man-made fiber blends. In 1971 output of fabrics was approximatley 15 million meters. In 1926 the combine was formed from a spinning factory founded in 1822 and a weaving and finishing factory founded in 1863. After the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45, major renovation work was undertaken, and old, underproductive equipment was replaced by new equipment. After its remodeling the combine became a large mechanized enterprise. Weaving is carried out by automatic weaving looms. With the installation of modern processing equipment, the method of spinning has changed from the semi worsted to the fine-combed type. Finishing work on fabrics is carried out by line production. In 1963 the Krasnokholmskii Worsted Combine was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
