Krasnoe-Na-Volge

an urban-type settlement and the administrative center of Krasnosel’skii Raion, Kostroma Oblast, RSFSR; a landing on the left bank of the Volga. It is situated on the Kostroma-Ivanovo highway, 32 km southeast of Kostroma. Krasnoe-na-Volge is an old center for the jewelry industry (wares made from copper, brass, and silver). It has a cannery and a butter and cheese plant. The Krasnosel’skii School for Artistic Metalwork is located in the settlement.
