Krasnoarmeets

(Red Army soldier), a military designation below noncommissioned officer in the ground troops and the air force of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army from January 1918. It was instituted as a personal rank by the decree of Sept. 22, 1935, of the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR. In July 1946 the rank of krasnoarmeets was replaced by the rank of private (riadovoi).
