Krasnaia Armiia Strait

a strait between Komsomolets Island and Oktiabr’skaia Revoliutsiia Island of the Severnaia Zemlia archipelago, connecting the Kara and Laptev seas. The strait is approximately 110 km long; it measures about 18 km wide in the west and about 10 km wide in the east. The shores are mountainous and precipitous. Krasnaia Armiia Strait is sometimes icebound year-round.
