Kotlas Paper and Pulp Combine
(full name, 50th Anniversary of the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth League Kotlas Paper and Pulp Combine), a major enterprise of the Soviet paper and pulp industry. Located in the settlement of Koriazhma in Arkhangel’sk Oblast, on the Vychegda River near the city of Kotlas. The combine manufactures pulp, intaglio printing paper, bag paper, container board, corrugated paper, paper bags, wood fiberboard, and products made from production waste materials (ethyl alcohol, protein fodder yeast, tall-oil rosin, and fatty acids). The combine went into operation in 1961. Production is computer-controlled. The combine was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1971.
