Kostov, Ivan Nikolov

Born Dec. 24, 1913, in Plovdiv. Bulgarian mineralogist. Academician of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1967); corresponding member, 1961). Kostov did specialized study in Great Britain from 1940 to 1945. In 1953 he became a professor and head of the subdepartment of mineralogy and crystallography at the University of Sofia. His work involves theoretical problems related to the classification, paragenesis, morphology, and crystallography of minerals.
