Koshland-Nemethy-Filmer model

Kosh·land-Né·meth·y-Fil·mer mod·el (KNF mod·el),

(kosh'lănd nem'ĕ-thē fil'mĕr), an explanation of the allosteric form of cooperativity. In this model, in the absence of ligands, the oligomeric protein exists in only one conformation; on binding, the ligand induces a conformational change that may be transmitted to other subunits. Synonym(s): Adair-Koshland-Némethy-Filmer model, induced fit model (2) [Daniel E. Koshland, George Némethy, David L. Filmer]
