nanolipogel

nanolipogel

A drug-delivery system consisting of nanoscale, hollow spheres made of a biodegradable, FDA-approved synthetic lipid, which can be loaded with an array of molecules. In early feasibility studies on melanomas, nanolipogel microspheres were loaded with transforming growth factor-beta and interleukin-2, and were biodegraded in vivo, resulting in neutralisation of the melanoma’s secretions and upregulation of the patient’s immune response.
