Marcus-Necker Rise
(Mid-Pacific Mountains), a gently sloping submarine sea-bottom elevation (ridge) in the western part of the Pacific Ocean, between Marcus Island and Necker Island (Hawaiian Islands). Length, about 4,500 km; width, 500-1,000 km; relative elevation, 300-500 m. Numerous mountains and above-water peaks (Marcus Island and Wake Island, for example) rise above the ridge. In the eastern part of the ridge there are distinct ranges (Necker Ridge, for example).
