Koranda, Václav
Koranda, Václav
Born about 1390; died about 1453. Prominent in the Hussite revolutionary movement.
Koranda joined the Hussite movement before the uprising of 1419 in Plzen (Pilsen) and was the chief propagandist of the armed struggle. He shared the radical views of M. Houska, whose teaching he continued to preach even after the massacre of the Picarts by the moderate Taborites. In 1452, Koranda was seized by the feudal lords and incarcerated in a dungeon.
