Levinson, Daniel Jacob

Levinson, Daniel Jacob

(1920– ) psychologist; born in New York City. He studied at the University of California: Berkeley and taught at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio (1947–50). In 1950 he joined Harvard University as a professor and research associate (to 1966). He was a professor of psychiatry at Yale (1966) and wrote The Authoritarian Person (1950), Patienthood in the Mental Hospital (1964), and The Seasons of a Man's Life (1978).
