Leverett function

Leverett function

[′lev·rət ‚fəŋk·shən] (fluid mechanics) A dimensionless number used in studying two-phase flow in porous mediums, written as (ξ/ e)1/2(p /σ), where ξ is the permeability of a medium (as defined by Darcy's law), e is the medium's porosity, σ is the surface tension between two liquids flowing through it, and p is the capillary pressure.
