[‚nan·ō·kəm′päz·ət] (materials) A material that results from the intimate mixture of two or more nanophase materials.

nanocomposite

A material containing some elements that are less than 100 nanometers in size. Nanocomposite materials are increasingly developed that are stronger than steel and as light as cardboard. See nanotechnology and graphene.
