Koksu
Koksu
a river in Taldy-Kurgan Oblast, Kazakh SSR, left tributary of the Karatal (basin of Lake Balkhash). Length, 205 km; basin area, 4,670 sq km. The river rises in the southwestern slopes of the Dzungarian Alatau. It is called the Karaaryk River from its source to the point at which the Kazan River empties into it. The mean annual flow rate 46 km from the mouth is approximately 57 eu m per sec. Muskrats are raised in the Koksu valley.
