Koivisto

(also Björkö), the former name of the island of Bol’shoi Berezovyi in the Gulf of Finland. Area, 46 sq km. It is surrounded by skerries. Koivisto is part of Leningrad Oblast of the RSFSR.

A treaty (Björkö Treaty) berween Germany and Russia was signed there by William on July 11 (24), 1905. The treaty was annulled in August 1907.
