Kodori Range
Kodori Range
(also Panavi Range), a mountain range on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus, in the Georgian SSR (mainly in Abkhazia), southeast of the Kodori River. The range is located between the Kodori and Inguri rivers. Its elevation is more than 3,500 m, and it extends approximately 75 km. The range is formed primarily of volcanic rocks, shales, and sandstones. There are mountain-type forests on the slopes and mountain-type meadows on the crests. In the southern spurs there are coal deposits (at Tkvarcheli).
