Kochechum

(also Kochechumo, Kochechuma), a river in Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Nizhniania Tunguska. Length, 733 km; basin area, 96,400 sq km. It has its source in the lower boundary of the Putoran Plateau and flows through the Syverma Plateau. The Kochechum is fed by snow and rain. It freezes over in October and thaws at the end of May. Its main tributaries are the Embenchime and the Tembenchi on the right and the Turu on the left. The settlement of Tura is located at the mouth of the river.
