Nezabitovskii, Vasilii Andreevich

 

Born 1824 in the city of Radomyshl’, now in Zhitomir Oblast; died in 1883. Russian scholar; jurist; specialist in international law.

Nezabitovskii graduated from the university of Kiev in 1846. From 1846 to 1853 he taught state law, financial law, and the history of Russian law at the Nezhin Lycée; in 1853 he was appointed to the chair of international law at the University of Kiev and prorector of the university. Nezabitovskii’s works played an important part in developing the chief institutions of international law (for example, the definition of state territory) and eliminating from these institutions any vestiges of feudalism.
