Mongocheiakha

(Sosnovaia), a river on the Gyda Peninsula. The river flows along the border of Krasnoiarsk Krai and Tiumen’ Oblast, RSFSR, and into Ovtsyna Strait (Enisei Gulf). Length, 339 km; basin area, 2,760 sq km. It is fed by snow and rain. The Mongocheiakha freezes in early October and thaws in the second half of June. Arctic cisco are found in the river’s lower course.
