Knizhnyi Vestnik

(Book Herald). (1) A critical bibliographical and book-trade journal, published twice a month in St. Petersburg between 1860 and 1867. It published material on the book trade, lists of newly published books, and reviews of new books.

(2) A journal published in St. Petersburg (Petrograd) from 1884 to 1918. Initially published twice a month, it became a monthly in 1888 and a weekly in 1902. The journal published articles and governmental directives concerning the book trade, as well as lists of books in print. It also carried a chronicle of important events concerning the book trade and libraries.
