Leovo

a city (since 1940), the administrative center of Leovo Raion, Moldavian SSR. A landing on the left bank of the Prut River, 22 km northwest of the Iargora railroad station on the Prut-Bessarabskaia line. Population, 9,200 (1972). Leovo has an essential-oils plant, a creamery, and a winery.
