mometasone [mo-met´ah-sōn] a synthetic corticosteroid; as m. furoate it is used topically for the relief of inflammation and pruritus in dermatoses and intranasally in the treatment of allergic rhinitis and other inflammatory nasal conditions.mometasone A CORTICOSTEROID drug used as a nasal spray to treat hay fever and in a berath-acuated inhaler to treat ASTHMA. Brand names are Nasonex and Asmanex. The drug is also formulated for external use under the brand name Elocon for the treatment of PSORIASIS and ATOPIC ECZEMA. |
