Muhammad Haidar, Dughlat
(also Mirza Muhammad Haidar). Born 1499 or 1500; died 1551. Historian and state figure of Mogolistan and Eastern Turkestan; cousin of Baber.
Writing in Tadzhik, Muhammad Haidar completed the Tarikh-i-Rashidi between 1541 and 1547. The work deals with the history of the khans of Mogolistan and the emirs of Kashgar. It also contains some information about the origins of the Uzbeks and describes events of the time of Muhammad Sheibani. The work was published in English in 1895.
